Troubleshooting group administration permissions
Who is this article for?
Application administrators.
Administrator permissions are required.
Users can gain the ability to administer groups through two independent methods: being assigned the User Administrator role, or belonging to a group with admin permissions for Groups.
Checking for the User Administrator role
To verify if a user has the User Administrator role:
- Go to the user management page: click the logo button, and select User Management.
- View the user's profile.
- Check if User Administrator appears as an assigned role.
If the role is assigned, the user can create and modify groups.
Checking group membership permissions
To verify if a user's group membership grants admin functions:
- Go to More.
- Select Groups.
- Identify the groups that the user belongs to.
- For each group, select Permissions.
- Check whether Admin is listed and Groups appears in the permissions.
If Admin and Groups are listed, the user can perform those admin functions.
