Version 2.6.0 gives you direct control over report design. Custom reporting lets teams create their own Word and PDF templates, generating reports from live assessment and risk data. Library items can now include supporting documents, with attachments moving automatically when content is copied between assessments, the universe, and the library. Plus, there’s much more space to record product details.
This article outlines the full changes, enhancements, and fixes that have been implemented in this release, available from 13 August 2026.
Features
Custom reporting
You can create reusable report templates and generate polished Word or PDF documents populated with live data from your assessments, quality risk registers, and quality risks - no more exporting to spreadsheets and rebuilding documents by hand.
Report templates live under Reporting, alongside Queries and Views. Each template is built for one of three starting points - an assessment, a quality risk register, or a quality risk - which determines what data the template can draw on and where it can be run from. Once a template exists, anyone with access can generate a report from a matching record, and the finished document appears in the record's Reports tab ready to download or open.
Getting started is guided. When you open a new template, a short four-step workflow offers ready-made choices for a cover page, a contents page, a header, and a footer, so you can have a professional-looking document in a few clicks. You can jump straight into the designer at any point, and everything the workflow creates is fully editable afterwards.
A template is made up of pages, each of which can be portrait or landscape, and onto which you place content blocks:
- Titles and headings across five levels, feeding an automatic table of contents
- Paragraphs with rich inline formatting
- Bulleted and numbered lists, with multiple indent levels
- Tables with a repeating header row that carries over page breaks
- Data blocks, which repeat a layout for every record returned - for example, a section for each finding in an assessment, with its remedial actions listed underneath. Data blocks can be grouped under a heading, given a page break between records, and nested inside one another.
- Data lists and data tables, which produce one list item or one table row per record
Within any text you can mix your own wording with live field values in the same sentence, apply bold, italic and underline, insert hyperlinks with your own link text, choose how dates are formatted, and drop in automatic values such as the document author, the creation date, and page numbering including "page X of Y". Where a field might be empty, you can set placeholder text so the document still reads well.
Ready-made building blocks. Three blocks assemble themselves in a single step, complete with the data behind them: a team table, where you pick and order the roles you want to show; a findings summary, giving a heading plus a details table covering description, type, owner, severity and resolution; and a remedial action table with code, title, description, owner, priority and status.
Formatting that responds to your data. Alongside alignment, indentation, borders and column widths, you can set a fill color on any table cell, row or column - chosen from a swatch, entered as a custom color, or driven by the data itself, so a table can automatically color-code by quality risk banding. Text color adjusts for contrast on its own. An undo and redo control covers your changes as you work.
Reusing and sharing your work. Templates can be copied, so you can start from a proven layout rather than a blank page. Reports you generate are private to you by default - because a report can bring together data from several sources, only you see the documents you have created, and the menu is labelled Reports to make that clear. When a report in an assessment is ready to share, use Promote to Assessment Report to publish a copy into the assessment reports register; you'll be reminded that promoting makes it visible to everyone on the assessment before you confirm. Report registers also show which template produced each document.
Open reports in Office Online
The document experience previously available only for attachments now extends to reports and assessment reports. From any register row, you can open a shared document panel to launch the file in Office Online to view or edit, download it, and browse its version history including opening or downloading earlier versions. Permissions are respected for each document type, and where a colleague has a file open for editing, you'll see who holds it, with lock status refreshing without needing to reload the page.
Attachments on library items
Library records can now carry their own attachments. File and URL attachments are available on the following library types - quality risks, quality objectives, quality responses, tests, phases, steps, findings, and remedial actions - so template documentation lives alongside the template it belongs to instead of somewhere else entirely. An Attachments tab appears on every library record page, and your administrator controls who can manage them through a new set of permissions.
Because uploaded files are duplicated every time a library template is used, you'll see helpful guidance on library attachment tabs recommending a link to your own document management system where possible - that way users always see the current version, and you avoid accumulating copies.
Attachments now travel with your content
Previously, copying records between assessments brought the structure across but left supporting documents behind. That's now resolved across every workflow:
- Get From Universe and Get From Assessment copy attachments from the source record and from any linked child records
- Get From Library copies template documentation into both the universe and assessments
- Rolling an assessment forward carries attachments on phases and steps into the new assessment, keeping your methodology documentation intact
Each attachment becomes a genuinely new copy in the destination rather than a link back to the original, so retention and access follow the destination record. Copying happens in the background: your records are created immediately and attachments arrive progressively, so you can carry on working or leave the page without interrupting the copy. Where a configuration step applies, an Attachments toggle lets you decide whether documents come across.
Assessment result origin
Assessment results copied into a record now show their origin. If a result was brought in from the universe or from another assessment, you'll see where it came from and a link straight through to the source record. Results created in the record itself show nothing at all, so there's no misleading label.
Because a copied result is a faithful record of work performed elsewhere, results with an origin outside the current record are now read-only - they can only be changed in the place they belong. Results you created in the record continue to behave exactly as before.
Watching copied records
When copying from another assessment, you can now choose to become a watcher of the source records. Two options on the configuration step let you follow just the main record you copied from, or that record together with all the linked records that came across - so you're notified of changes at source, in line with your own notification preferences.
Comments on assurances
Assurances can now carry an optional comment, whether the assurance sits on a quality risk, a quality response, or a quality objective. It's a single place to capture short context - up to 1,000 characters with formatting - visible whenever the assurance is viewed, and following the same read-only rules as other fields when the assurance can't be edited. The assurance layout has been reworked so a long comment no longer pushes other fields out of view.
Character limit changes
Character limits have been raised substantially where customers told us they were getting in the way:
- Description fields on assessments, quality risks, findings, and remedial actions now accept four times as much formatted text
- Long text custom fields now accept up to 8,000 characters
- Remedial action progress update comments now accept four times as much formatted text
- A new Long Text question type for questionnaires gives respondents a multi-line answer box for explanations and narrative detail, accepting up to 8,000 characters with a clear indication as you approach the limit
Existing content is unaffected by these changes.
Hyperlinks in rich text
You can now add hyperlinks in rich text fields throughout the product, with your own link text - a frequently requested change that makes it far easier to point colleagues at source documents, policies and evidence held elsewhere.
Custom filter bar
The flexible filtering long available on the assessment execution grid now comes to the main registers - quality risks, remedial actions, findings, quality responses, quality objectives, and tests. Choose which filters appear on the bar, including filters on your own custom fields, and your selection is remembered between sessions. A summary chip shows how many filters are active with one click to clear them all.
Findings in more query structures
The query designer now offers findings as a sub-query beneath quality objectives, quality risks, quality responses, tests, phases, steps, and deficiencies. Because the product already links findings to all of these, you can now build nested queries and exports that follow your own reporting structure rather than always starting from the assessment or the finding.
Other improvements
We've made some other, smaller improvements to the platform:
- A Referenced By shortcut now sits alongside the tabs on record pages, so you can see what references a record without opening the options menu
- The notifications page has clearer, more concise wording and a more meaningful icon on its setting tab
- In assessments, the button to attach a link now reads Add Link, matching what it does.
Fixes
This release includes a wide range of fixes for reliability and accuracy across the product:
- Assessment module - Fixed scope not being represented correctly. Fixed a mismatch between the options offered when configuring a summary page and those on the page itself. Fixed imported universe elements not appearing on the execution page. Fixed errors when opening the execution page in certain configurations. Fixed a server error when bringing quality risks with results across from another assessment. Fixed an incorrect link after adding a phase or step. Fixed an unresponsive star control on the assessment report versions list. Fixed assessment type budget hours being displayed in minutes when editing.
- Quality risks, results, and matrices - Fixed errors when editing heat maps and a filter that could not be cleared. Fixed archived quality risk bandings appearing in matrix guidance. Fixed save control behavior when setting banding, and a stray save control on the history and guidance tabs. Fixed duplicate quality risk and quality response codes when several people create records simultaneously. Fixed a missing perspective in Views.
- Library, universe, and creation - Fixed library imports saving without an owner instead of prompting. Fixed guidance not following the configured list order. Fixed guidance and tooltips not appearing while creating records. Fixed custom fields not displaying on tests, quality responses, and quality risks. Fixed validation messages appearing before any details had been entered.
- Attachments and documents - Fixed files with accented or non-Latin characters in their names being rejected. Fixed the upload dialog hanging when cancelling a large batch. Fixed document details being inaccessible where the uploading user's name was restricted. Fixed lock indicators, unlocking with certain permissions, and version history not refreshing after editing in Office Online.
- Findings and deficiencies - Fixed errors after deleting a finding or a deficiency.
- Questionnaires - Fixed guidance and validation behavior when building and completing questionnaires.
- Reporting - A substantial number of fixes to report design and document generation, covering data handling, table formatting and layout, hyperlink behavior, spacing between elements, and the accuracy of generated content.
