Assessments help you identify core operational Risks your organisation may face and evaluate Controls put in place to address these. This article shows you how to begin an Assessment from a Control record.

1. Starting an Assessment

1.1. Video

1. Open the Risk menu.
2. Select Controls.

3. Access the Control record you need to assess.

4. Click New assessment.

5. Set the Control Rating band.
   This is a measure of how well the the Control addresses the Risk, based on your investigation.

6. Provide additional Comments.
   This is useful to give others insight into your effectiveness rationale.
7. Click Save.

You will be taken back to the Control where you can see an overview of all current and past Assessments.

To view historical assessment data, click History. Here, you can see a list of all Assessments previously completed for the Control.

To view your Control effectiveness over time, switch to the Trend tab.
