Ideagen Internal Audit and Risk Management v2.2.0 release notes
Who is this article for?
Administrators interested in learning more about solution updates.
No special access or permissions are required.
Version 2.2.0 introduces a new system for better control over review point categorisation and management throughout the audit lifecycle. It also includes improvements to scope management, attachment permissions, notification preferences, and various usability enhancements and bug fixes.
This article outlines the full changes, enhancements, and fixes that have been implemented in this release, available from 26 March 2026.
1. Features
Review point types
Administrators can now create and manage different types of review points, each with customisable properties including title, color, description, and completion behavior.
The standout feature is the Delete on Completion option. When enabled for a review point type, any review points of that type are automatically removed when the parent audit is completed. This keeps your completed audits clean and focused on the deficiencies that matter, while a clear warning dialogue ensures users understand what will happen before confirming.
Review point types are managed through Lists and follow the Draft > Active > Archived lifecycle. The Type field is now required when creating review points, which you can use to filter and sort by in registers.
Smarter scope management
The system now intelligently detects when you're working with objectives, risks, controls, or tests that fall outside of your current audit scope, and expands the scope automatically.
This works across these key scenarios:
- Opening draft audits - If your audit includes planned risks with locations or processes outside the audit scope, you will be promoted to expand the scope.
- Rolling forward audits - items from a prior audit that don't fit the new scope can be included by expanding the scope, or left behind.
Granular attachment permissions
Attachment permissions have been refined for better control. Instead of a single Manage Audit Attachments permission, you now have three separate sets:
- Create Audit Attachments - Allows the user to upload new attachments
- Edit Audit Attachments - Allows the user to modify attachment details and lock/unlock attachments
- Delete Audit Attachments - Allows the user to remove attachments.
Referenced By for attachments
The new Referenced By command shows you every object that references a particular attachment, grouped by type.
Click the menu on any attachment in an Audit and select the option to see phases, steps, findings, and other objects that link to it, with one-click navigation to each.
Notification improvements
In-app notifications respect your preferences
Your notification preferences now apply to in-app notifications (Bell icon) as well as emails. If you've turned off notifications for certain events, you won't see them in either place.
Recurring overdue notifications
Overdue notification emails now work as intended. You'll receive daily reminders for any overdue items until they're completed or no longer overdue, keeping important deadlines visible.
User Interface (UI) improvements
Incident terminology option
Administrators can now change "Incident" to "Risk Events" in terminology settings. This applies across the entire application, including notifications, emails, and reports.
Existing reports will keep their original codes, while new records will use the updated terminology.
Usability enhancements
We've introduced the following usability enhancements:
- Audit history is now accessible from the actions menu on risk and control record pages for a more consistent experience.
- Keyboard shortcuts modal now features alternating row colours for better readability.
- Methodology and Execution grids now show intuitive expand/collapse chevrons that match the hierarchical structure.
- In custom field types, "Select" has been renamed to "Custom List" for clarity.
- New Zealand Dollar (NZD) has been added to the available currencies.
